by one of my favourite poets
Do not think me gentle
because I speak in praise
of gentleness, or elegant
because I honor the grace
that keeps this world. I am
a man crude as any,
gross of speech, intolerant,
stubborn, angry, full
of fits and furies. That I
may have spoken well
at times, is not natural.
A wonder is what it is.

Favorite cobbler
I make this cobbler frequently. I omit the sugar and it is still great. The juice you pour over at the end cooks to the bottom and results in a pudding sort of bottom. Delicious!

more arbutus
I got out my camera today (as opposed to my iPhone) and took some photos of Arbutus. A real camera puts instagram photos to shame. Here's a few more:
Creative World
We just got back from the Creative World Festival in Mission. It was good to be there and to host meals from our "living room" under our shade tent (thanks mom and dad for the loan). We're home now and recuperating from a virus. Almost all well now. Grateful for that.

A little bit of life
Here's a quick photo update. We're doing really well.
Lance, with help from family and friends, threw an amazing party for Elijah and Eva yesterday. Elijah, with gratitude, declared it the best party ever!
Ari is one week old. Seems like longer! How can it only have been one week? We are all loving having him here. He eats very well and sleeps well enough which means I'm feeling pretty good too.
This morning lance and the twins went to Artisan and Anders, Ari and I have been lying low getting some rest.
That's all for now. Oh and I do intend to post a bit about the birth (which was awesome) not sure when exactly that will happen though!

Today we celebrated Elijah and Eva's birthday.
They brought fruit kebabs to share at their classroom time. We went to the park and had a picnic snack, opened gifts and played (well Ari and I sat on the blanket and watched everything, this was our first outing!). We'll be celebrating more later this week with some friends and family.
It's hard to believe how big they are now and how small they started!! Having little Ari around makes the comparison so much more real and shocking!

He's here
Early Saturday morning Arbutus Jude was born! He was born at home and everything went amazingly well. We're just getting to know him and we all love him like crazy.

In the meantime
As we wait for this little one to arrive we have been playing, baking, building, and readying our home. I'm feeling really good. Excited. We had a false alarm on thursday and thought for sure labor was starting, then things shut down. So now we wait. Maybe a baby for my birthday today?
